Gimli Gazette, Issue Number Sixty-Seven

Gimli Gazette, Issue Number Sixty-Seven

Hello my friends, and welcome to another edition of the Gimli Gazette, where all the world comes to read my perspective on events happening at Mercy Spring Ranch.

Everyone is still buzzing about our recent Ranch Family Dinner.  None of it would have been possible without the efforts of so many faithful volunteers.  Thank you one and all for a job well done.

The high point of my day was the production of A Pony’s Tale, written and directed by yours truly.  The children were all dressed in costumes suitable for any Renaissance Festival.  Everyone had a good time.  Many thanks to all who participated.  Huzzah!

The part that I especially enjoyed was when all seemed lost in the play, because the Queen and her two princesses had been kidnapped.  That was when I entered the scene to roll the Giant Ball of Doom into the castle walls to free the royal prisoners.  Once again, Gimli the Brave saved the day!

I had a lot of fun working with the children.  My hooves were painted in brilliant colors to celebrate the day.  (I had a personal spa day on Friday before the Dinner).  I worked that pedicure like the professional model that I truly am.

Some of you have remarked about the pictures on Facebook with me playing an Oud.  This is a Middle Eastern instrument that resembles a lute.  My fans have asked if they will hear any of my Oud playing on my next CD release entitled Pony Plays Punk.  Let’s just say that it will be one of many surprises on my next album.

In all the excitement surrounding the Ranch Family Dinner, someone tried to put sub-quality hay in my feeder.  It was not sweet enough to meet my high standards.  Needless to say, I scattered it in protest all around the floor of my paddock.  Ladyhawke and Connor have not yet joined my hunger strike, but I know that they will!

Now that sessions are over, I will not be posting as much as I usually do.  I need to focus my attention and energy on creative projects that I have put on hold until now.  However, when MSR events happen that require insightful commentary, know that I will be on the job and will give you the full story.  In the meantime, you can always send me questions on Facebook.

Happy Trails,

Gimli     October 23, 2023
