Gimli Gazette, Number Ninety-Two

Gimli Gazette, Number Ninety-Two

Hello my friends, and welcome to another lively edition of the Gimli Gazette, where I fill the Internet with wisdom and insight that can only come from a superior intellect such as my own!

I begin this posting with a question from one of the children in our current session.  She writes, “Do you think Jireh is crazy?”

I can see why someone may think that Jireh is a couple of eggs short of a dozen.  He romps around the ranch without a care in the world.  If you see him toss around that deflated ball in the arena, you would think that he is too easily amused.  I won’t even begin to discuss what he does to Mati’s (the dog) squeaky rubber chicken (see the video on Facebook).

Jireh is not crazy.  He is just super playful!  There are times when he behaves more like a lap dog than a horse.  Jireh is very friendly, and he loves interacting with human visitors to the ranch.  He and I have had our moments in the arena, but I know that it is all in good fun.  One person’s (or horse’s) playfulness may appear to be craziness to other casual observers.  Jireh has a good heart, so I would not deny him a little extra silliness in the arena.

As I write this, it is Jireh’s birthday.  I am sure that there will be extra horse cookies given to all the herd in celebration of his special day (hint, hint).  I know that he will not be getting hundreds (thousands?) of presents from all over the world as I get on my birthday, but I’m sure the day will be special to him.

April brings the start of a new season of sessions with the children.  It is my favorite time of the year.  I look forward to their arrival at the ranch each week and do my best to see that they receive quality Gimli attention.  When they get older, they will look back on these days and be in awe over the fact that they got to spend time with the one and only Gimli Black.

Well that’s all for this posting.  I hope that the children keep sending in those good questions.  I am here to serve them any way that I can.

Happy Trails,

Gimli     April 23, 2026
