Hello my friends, and welcome to the one hundredth edition of the Gimli Gazette. Over the years I have strived to give you my very best insights into life at Mercy Spring Ranch, through the eyes of its best representative. We have all been through a lot together in these blog postings (as well as the many News Flashes). Take note of what you are doing right now. Years from now people will ask you where you were when Gimli posted his 100th blog. This is a momentous event that you will always treasure in your heart!
I have looked over the archives of these one hundred posts. I must say that so much has changed on the ranch over the years. I have watched as the campus has added mini-horses, chickens, goats, a lamb, and a dog. Many children have gone through sessions over the years, and have grown up to start their adult lives. Through it all, the ranch photos show that I keep looking better and better! Some things really do get more beautiful with age!!!
But it really is all about the children. Every animal on the ranch is here to minister to them. The human staff do their part as well to make the ranch experience a blessing to every child who sets foot on the campus. We are paid in smiles from each child, and it is worth every moment that we have here to spend with them.
In most of my postings I have answered questions from the children, and this one hundredth blog is no different. A young girl in the current session writes, “Are you jealous of the other horses? They seem to be ridden more than you lately. P.S. — I love you!!!”
Thank you for this observant question. Yes, I have been taking a little break lately to give Ladyhawke and Jireh a chance to work with the children and get to know them better. I do not want to steal the show from them each week (that is the kind of humble, self-sacrificing horse that I am!). I still have been getting my share of baths in this hot weather from the children, so I am still part of the action. When I sense that the other horses have caught up with me in terms of riding time with the children, I will rejoin the queue and be ridden more.
I also thank you for your note of affection. I know who you are. I have great love for you and your family. You may see me smile each time when you visit the ranch. I enjoy you and your sister very much.
