Gimli Gazette, Number Eighty-Five

Gimli Gazette, Number Eighty-Five

Hello my friends, and welcome to another edition of the Gimli Gazette, where my words of wisdom and insight fill the Internet with a fulfilling diet of truth on a regular basis.

I begin this posting with my first question of 2025 from a child in our current session.  She writes, “Do you like to have your treats before or after you eat?”  That is a good question — with an answer that I hope my feeders take note of and change their behavior accordingly.  I like to have treats at every stage of my meal.  Perhaps I can start my breakfast with a horse cookie.  Then as a break from my portion of hay, a nice carrot would be refreshing.  Then I can top off my dining experience with an apple or two.  Basically, there is never a bad time to enjoy a treat.  I would like to encourage a greater portion of my morning and evening meals to consist of these tasty tidbits of culinary delight.

The ranch was very active earlier this week with the walls to the new greenhouse going up.  At first I thought that the crew was building me a new recording studio, but that project will probably occur at a later date (when I can give more feedback as to my dynamic acoustic specifications).  Many thanks to all the folks who came out to assist with this project.

Call-ins for the next session with the children takes place this Saturday, July 5th at 8am.  This is done on a first call, first served basis.  Be sure to call promptly if you hope to participate in the August/September block.

Tomorrow is typically a difficult day for the herd.  For some reason, humans in America like to explode fireworks in their neighborhoods to demonstrate their patriotism.  I have delicate ears, and such loud noises irritate my sensitive hearing.  As a professional musician, I should not have to be exposed to such noise.  The rest of the animals at the ranch are also a bit leery of these explosions.  Please have a safe (and quiet!) holiday.

Well that’s it for now.  Thanks to all of you who have wished me comfort and support in dealing with Connor’s passing.  Ladyhawke continues to come alongside me in this difficult time.  I could not make it without all of your kind support and cuddles.

Happy Trails,

Gimli     July 3, 2025
