Gimli Gazette, Number Eighty-Eight

Gimli Gazette, Number Eighty-Eight

Hello my friends, and welcome to another edition of the Gimli Gazette, where I rock the literary world with my brilliant insights and equine perspectives that the whole world is desperate to hear!

I will devote this posting to four questions which a young girl in the current session sent to me.  The first question impacts most animals.  She asks, “What is your favorite part of a thunder storm?”  This is a good question, since some parts of a storm (thunder and lightening) can scare humans and animals alike.  My favorite part is the sound of the rain pounding on the roof of my paddock.  As a master musician, I am often listening for new rhythms that I can incorporate into my musical compositions.  God is the ultimate musician.  I would like to think that God gifted me in the musical arts to bring beauty into the world through my musical stylings and exquisite skill.  Whenever you hear a beautiful melody or rhythm, you should say in your heart, “Thank You Gimli!”

Next she asks me, “Do you like bonfires?”  From a distance, I find them quite delightful.  Given the amount of dry hay in my paddock, I do not want any embers or flames blowing my way.  Mr. John and Miss Mo are careful to keep these fires safely from my personal space.  I have trained them well over the years.  With the Ranch Family Dinner coming up in a few weeks, I will soon be experiencing a live bonfire.

Her third question is, “Do you like being washed?”  Very much so!  On a hot day, a good wash is quite refreshing.  It also can be a great massage if the children do it properly.  As an international supermodel horse, I take my personal hygiene very seriously, especially before a photo shoot.  A good wash as part of my grooming is essential.

The last question is, “Do you eat any vegetables?”  Yes indeed.  As a herbivore, I eat mostly grass and hay.  Grains and vegetables are an additional treat in my diet.  I love chewing on a tasty carrot whenever I can get one.  The same goes for an apple, but that is a fruit.

Well, that’s it for questions in this posting.  As I mentioned, the Ranch Family Dinner is coming up on Saturday, October 18th.  I will have my selfie booth set up for photos with my fans.  I will waive all fees for this one-day event.  I hope to see you there!

Happy Trails,

Gimli     September 28, 2025
