Hello my friends, and welcome to another Gimli News Flash, where I give you the latest information that cannot wait for one of my regular postings.
The big news is that Mercy Spring Ranch (MSR) just participated in two Christmas Parades (last week in Escalon and this week in Riverbank). The crowds were thrilled to see the colorful MSR float, with lights arranged by yours truly. Also delightful was all the candy tossed to children and adults alike as they waved from the sidewalks. It was a great time for two communities to come out and celebrate the season with our staff and volunteers.
Folks have been asking me why I was not in the parade this year. Surely it would be the highlight of the event! It is for that reason that I declined marching in the parade. My mere presence would steal all the attention from the MSR float (as well as the other group vehicles), and thus take away from the purpose of the parades. Besides, the parade budgets from these two towns could not afford my professional fees, so I saved them the embarrassment by declining to participate in advance.
This does not mean that I am lacking in holiday spirit. If you look at the picture below, you will see me playing with one of my minions in Christmas garb. I am always at the ready to be there for my fans when needed.
The holiday season is upon us now, so on behalf of the ranch animals, I wish you and yours a Merry Christmas and a joyous New Year!
Happy Trails,
Gimli December 14, 2025
