Greetings my friends, and welcome to another edition of the Gimli Gazette, where I restore sanity to a world spinning out of control through my wisdom and inspired writing.
I would like to fill today’s post with four questions from a family in our current session. I like bringing families together around the table writing inquiries for me. Rather than sitting around and playing board games, families can now gather with the singular purpose of contemplating the wonders of Gimli Black!
The first question comes from Mom. She writes, “What kind of royalties do you really get when the children take photos with you during their sessions?” That is a good question. The exact dollar amounts are handled by my accountants and collection personnel. I do not keep track of the final amount, but I am told that it is enough to provide me with the lifestyle to which I have grown accustomed to throughout my pampered life. I never charge the children for photos taken during sessions, unless they are used for fundraising or personal financial gain (I have a face that makes people want to throw money at me!). If someone tries to make money off my photogenic features, my lawyers will make quick work of them.
The Mom also asks, “It seems like Jireh has some serious FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) when he sees you in sessions. Will he be joining the sessions soon?” I have been working long hours with Jireh to make him ready to work with the children. Granted, it is a high bar for him to reach my standards and skill set, but he is coming along. It is a challenge for a horse to be flexible when working with new riders as most children are. There are subtle clues that a horse must pick up on when receiving instructions from a rider of any age. We hope that Jireh will be ready soon.
One girl in session writes, “I was wondering why you keep nipping Jireh?” When I nip Jireh, it is a form of playful affection which I have for my new friend. Sometimes I nip his withers (located at the base of his neck between the shoulder blades), which feels good. Other times I give him a nip so that he know his place in the herd (I was here first!). It is all in good fun.
Her sister asks, “I was wondering if you have a favorite kid in sessions?” Ahhh, that is like asking a parent if they have a favorite child. I have so much love for all the children in sessions, that it would break my heart to pick one over another. How would you feel if I said that I loved someone else in sessions more than you??! All the children are so delightful and fill me with such joy! I could not conceive of ranking them in order of preference.
Well that’s all for this posting. Please keep those questions coming in. I love reading and answering each one.
Happy Trails,
Gimli May 21, 2026
