Hello my friends, and welcome to another edition of the Gimli Gazette, where I teach the world to sing in perfect harmony with me.
Everyone in the MSR community is talking about yesterday’s Ranch Family Dinner. While there have been a few comments about the games, food, and video presentation, most of the buzz has centered around the Showcase Presentation entitled THE PRODIGAL PONY, staring the world acclaimed actor Gimli Black in the title role. I have already heard discussions about a run on Broadway. My agent is currently handling possible bookings.
The whole production was a big success. The children did an excellent job is playing their roles. Even Jireh (in his first public performance) did a fine job (under my tutelage) as a rodeo horse. The storyline was quite dramatic, and I pulled out all the stops to give an emotional performance. I saw many tears flowing in the crowd as I moved the audience with my rags to riches character. People actually believed that there were difficult rodeo events which I could not compete in for fame and prizes. I had to conceal my naturally superior talents so that the audience would think I was incapable of winning the grand rodeo prize. I had the audience eating out of my hooves!
At the conclusion of the evening, there was the traditional raffle. The best prize (a framed picture of moi) went to a young boy in a complete cowboy outfit. I got to know him well this summer, so it was no surprise that he wanted a picture of me to behold during the cold winter months. There was also a pumpkin painted like me which found a taker.
This will be a Ranch Family Dinner for the books! Look for pictures soon on the MSR Facebook Page. I was rewarded with many horse cookies, and a record number of selfies of me were taken as well. Thanks to everyone for making the day so special. It was a joy to be with you all.
Happy Trails,
Gimli October 18, 2026
